STEARNS JOINED AREA WWII VETERANS FOR FLIGHT TO WASHINGTON DC TO SEE THE WWII MEMORIAL

WASHINGTON, OCT. 25, 2012 – Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth), a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, joined World War II veterans from Marion County for the Ocala Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on Thursday, October 25th. Said Stearns, “It is an honor to join our World War II veterans on their trip to Washington where they visit the World War II Memorial, the Korean and Vietnam War Memorials, and the Lincoln Memorials. The event ends at Arlington National Cemetery where the veterans will go to the Tombs of the Unknown.”

Stearns has been very supportive of Ocala Honor Flight, a non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans by transporting veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials. Added Stearns, “These flights are possible because of the dedication of the veterans’ friends and families, and the volunteers and contributors who are committed to honoring our brave veterans.”
