STEARNS INVITES ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE SIXTH DISTRICT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION

AWARDS CEREMONY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 28TH AT THE APPLETON MUSEUM OF ART IN OCALA

WASHINGTON, MARCH 22, 2012 – “This is the 31st Congressional Art Competition, which is open to all high school students in Florida’s Sixth Congressional District,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth).  “Over the years, many outstanding works of arts have been submitted, demonstrating the extraordinary talent of or area high school students. I look forward to seeing this year’s art pieces.”

All artwork entered will be exhibited at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala from April 28th to May 13th.  In addition to prizes for the winning artists, the submission of the first place winner will be exhibited in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.   The deadline for submissions is April 18th to any of Rep. Stearns’ district offices, or by April 20th to the Appleton Museum.   The award ceremony will be held on April 28th at the Appleton Museum of Art.  For information and submission guidelines, please contact Laura Baldwin at 1-800-888-7743.
