WASHINGTON, SEPT. 11, 2012 – In honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks and their families, Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) also praised the dedication, heroism, and sacrifice of those who responded to the attacks.  “Today, as I did 11 years ago, I stood with my colleagues on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in mourning the victims of 9/11 and in demonstrating the nation’s resolve to defend our liberty,” said Stearns.  “Although these calamitous attacks took a heavy toll, America today stands stronger and safer.  In responding to those attacks, we assisted other nations in combating terrorism and we have killed or captured those behind the attacks.  Today is a solemn occasion to remember those who lost their lives 11 years ago, to pray for them and their families, and to strengthen our resolve to stand as the beacon of freedom.”
