STEARNS HONORS JUDGE SUE ROBBINS OF OCALA AS AN "ANGEL IN ADOPTION"

ROBBINS AND OTHER ANGELS IN ADOPTION TO BE RECOGNIZED AT NATIONAL EVENT IN WASHINGTON, DC

Washington, Aug 31 -

Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth) has selected Judge Sue Robbins as a 2011 “Angels in Adoption” awardee for her outstanding advocacy of adoption.  “Known as the ‘adoption judge’ here in Marion County, Sue Robbins has finalized the adoption of children in hundreds of cases over the last 10 years, and most of these children had ‘special needs,’” said Stearns.  “It is a privilege to highlight her tireless efforts on behalf of children, especially through adoption.”

Robbins is a Circuit Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in and for Marion County.   The Angels in Adoption program is the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI’s) signature public awareness campaign and provides an opportunity for all members of Congress to honor the good work of their constituents who have enriched the lives of foster children and orphans.  The CCAI will honor Robbins and other Angels at an awards ceremony and gala event in Washington, DC, on October 5, 2011.

Judge Robbins has been a member of the Florida Supreme Court's Steering Committee on Children and Families in the Courts and its subcommittees since 2002, as well as the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court judges.
