Washington, May 26 -

Today the American Conservative Union honored Rep. Al Cardenas, Chairman of the American Conservative Union and former Chairman of the Republican Party in Florida, presented the award to Stearns. Stearns scored a 96 percent rating with the American Conservative Union for his votes in 2010 on such issues as opposing taxpayer-funded abortions, supporting greater government transparency, and opposing increasing the government workforce.

"I appreciate this recognition of my conservative record and my votes to promote economic growth, individual responsibility, a strong national defense, and greater freedom," said Stearns. The American Conservative Union is the leading entity in providing conservative positions on issues to Congress, Administration Officials, State Governments, the media, political candidates and the public.
