STEARNS HOLDING OVERSIGHT HEARING ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY

WILL REVIEW GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY EFFORTS TO IMPROVE SECURITY

WASHINGTON, MARCH 26, 2012 – “The United States relies on a highly connected global information technology (IT) market that presents very sophisticated challenges to ensure the integrity of supply chains,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.  “Since the federal government is one of the largest buyers of IT systems and the Director of National Intelligence identified the vulnerabilities associated with IT supply chain as one of the greatest cyber threat challenges, this hearing will examine the risks and the ways to mitigate them.”

On Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in room 2123 RHOB, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing entitled “IT Supply Chain Security: Review of Government and Industry Efforts.”
