STEARNS HOLDING OVERSIGHT HEARING ON GRANTING OF WAIVERS TO HEALTH CARE LAW ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2011

TO DATE THE ADMINISTRATION HAS PROVIDED 915 WAIVERS TO UNIONS, CORPORATIONS, AND INSURANCE PLANS AND COMPANIES

“The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIO) is responsible for deciding who does not have to comply with the massive regulation imposed in the health care law,” stated Rep. Cliff Stearns, (R-FL), Chairman of the Energy & Commerce Committee’s Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.  “We need to determine the criteria for issuing or denying these waivers to the health care law, as well as learning more about why these waivers are necessary to protect these entities from the provisions of the health care law.”

This hearing, “Health Care Issues Involving the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight,” will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 9:30 AM in Room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
