STEARNS HOLDING HEARING TO GET UPDATE ON THE ADMINISTRATION'S REGULATORY REFORM AGENDA

FOLLOW UP ON JANUARY HEARING THAT LOOKED AT REFORMS AND REDUCING THE REGULATORY BURDEN

Washington, Jun 2  -

In January, President Obama issued an executive order entitled "Improving Regulation and Regulatory Review", with the intent of eliminating or modifying unjustified or unnecessary regulations and to ensure that regulations are consistent with the President's priorities.  Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, held a hearing in January to examine the Administration's regulatory agenda.  "This hearing is a follow up on the January hearing to gauge the Administration's experience in improving regulations and regulatory review, as well as seeing what progress has been made in formulating an improved, less burdensome regulatory scheme."

On Friday, June 3, 2011, at 9:30 a.m., in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing entitled "The Views of the Administration on Regulatory Reform: An Update."
