STEARNS HOLDING FIRST IN A SERIES OF COMMITTEE HEARINGS ON CYBERSECURITY THREAT TO OUR NATION'S CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE

OVERSIGHT & INVESTIGATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE TO EXAMINE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY'S EFFORTS TO PROTECT CRITICAL ENERGY, INFORMATION, AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

"Over the last 15 years, our federal government has wrestled with the question of how best to protect our nation's critical infrastructure for cyber threats," said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. "This hearing will investigate the federal government's efforts to protect our critical infrastructure, such as the electric grid and nuclear power plants, against cyber threats. "We will examine current risks and threats to cybersecurity, and the Department of Homeland Security's efforts to protect our critical infrastructure."

The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee is holding a hearing on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in room 2322 RHOB, entitled "Cybersecurity: An Overview of Risks to Critical Infrastructure."
