STEARNS ATTENDING RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY FOR NEW SUNTRAN BUS FACILITY

STEARNS OBTAINED $1.4 MILLION TO ESTABLISH THE MODERN BUS FACILITY

Washington, Apr 10, 2006 - "Increasingly, the people of our community depend on SunTran to take them to work, to school, for doctor appointments, and to go shopping," stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala). "In 1999 ridership on SunTran was 98,000; last year it was nearly 300,000. Our transportation needs are growing and SunTran needs to match that growth. I am proud that I obtained $1.4 million for SunTran's new bus facility."

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the SunTran Bus Facility on Monday, April 10th, at 10:00 a.m., at 2100 NE 30th Avenue in Ocala. Stearns will be making brief remarks. The new 8,500-square-foot facility will house the maintenance, dispatch, and administrative functions of SunTran.
