STEARNS ATTENDING DEDICATION OF SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE PLANETARIUM

STEARNS SECURED $500,000 FOR DEVELOPING THE PLANETARIUM COMPLEX

Washington, Sep 7, 2006 - Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala) will speak at the dedication of the planetarium at Santa Fe Community College on Friday, September 8, 2006, at 2:30 p.m.  Last year, Stearns secured $500,000 in funding to establish Santa Fe's Planetarium/Astronomy Museum Complex.   Said Stearns, "Not only will this planetarium benefit the students and faculty at Santa Fe Community College, it will be open to students at other schools and the general public to learn more about what is beyond our planet.  This is a resource for the entire region, since the nearest planetarium is in Jacksonville.  I look forward to continuing to work with Santa Fe in expanding and strengthening the school's programs.
