STEARNS ASKS MILITARY TO ESTABLISH JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER'S TRAINING CORPS (JROTC) AT FRANCIS MARION MILITARY ACADEMY

ARMY ANNOUNCES OPENING OF JROTC AT FRANCIS MARION FOR 2010-11 SCHOOL YEAR

“The Francis Marion Military Academy in Ocala instills military principles in offering a unique educational environment,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala).  “The Academy asked me to assist them in getting one of the armed serves to establish a Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (JROTC) at the school.I am pleased that the U.S. Army will establish a program at Francis Marion for the 2010-11 school year.”The Army JROTC has over 1,600 units and is represented in all 50 states.  In establishing a JROTC unit, the Army provides the school with uniforms, instructional materials, and shares the costs of military instructors.
