STEARNS ANNOUNCES ONE STEP CLOSER TO OPENING NEW REGIONAL VA HEALTH FACILITY IN SOUTH MARION

STEARNS SECURED FUNDING FOR FINAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE FACILITY

 
 

Washington, Oct 1, 2007 - "I am pleased to announce that the Department of Veterans affairs has informed me that it has awarded a 20 year lease for the new Regional VA Health Care Facility to be built in Summerfield, FL," stated Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Ocala).  "The 75,000-square-foot facility will be built on over nine acres at 8900 SE 165th Mulberry Lane."

Stearns, a long-time advocate for the facility, noted the services that will be available.  "The clinic will provide primary care, specialty care, and mental health services," added Stearns.  Specialty services will include minor surgery, audiology, cardiology, urology, GI, orthopedics, ophthalmology, dermatology, and imaging services such as CT, MRI, and ultrasound."  The facility is to be delivered to the VA in February 2010 with it opening shortly after that.
