REPLACES JOHN KONKUS WHO IS NOW CHIEF OF STAFF FOR FLORIDA LT. GOVERNOR JENNIFER CARROLL

Washington,May 3 - Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth) announces that John Newstreet has been selected as his new District Director.  Newstreet replaces John Konkus, who is now the chief of staff for Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll.  "John has a record of service to the people of Florida and I know that he will be a good addition for the people of the Sixth District," said Stearns.

Prior to joining Stearns' staff, Newstreet was the Deputy State Director for Sen. George LeMieux and Central Region Director for LeMieux and Sen. Mel Martinez.  Newstreet also has experience as the State Adjutant for The American Legion, Department of Florida; and as a financial planner.

Newstreet will work out of Stearns' Ocala office, with the other district offices being in Gainesville and Orange Park.   Each of Stearns' district offices offers help in dealing with federal agencies, scheduling meetings, and responding to any questions.
