STEARNS ANNOUNCES ANNUAL CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION OPEN TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE SIXTH DISTRICT

WINNING ENTRY WILL BE DISPLAYED IN THE U.S. CAPITOL, PRIZES GIVEN AT AWARDS CEREMONY ON APRIL 23, 2011

“I am very proud of the artwork submitted each year by the high school students of the Sixth Congressional District,” said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Sixth).  “We have many extremely talented artists and I encourage these students to participate in the competition.”  High school students who live or attend school in the Sixth Congressional District are invited to submit their work for the Annual Congressional Art Competition.

Entries must be delivered to one of Stearns’ District Offices (Gainesville, Orange Park, or Ocala) by April 12, 2011, or to the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala by April 15, 2011.  The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Appleton Museum in Ocala on April 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM.  For additional information, please contact Laura Baldwin in Stearns’ Ocala office 352-351-8777, or call toll free in Florida 1-800-888-7743.
