Ocala, Florida, September 17, 2011 -- "I extend my deepest sympathy to the Leeward family and all those who were a part of this horrible tragedy at the Reno Air Show yesterday.  It appears from his final actions he may have saved the lives of many others by trying to steer the plane away from the spectators."

 "Jimmy was a neighbor and a friend.   He was seasoned racing pilot and an entrepreneur with exceptional grace and bearing.  Jimmy developed the Leeward Air Ranch in my hometown of Ocala, which gives families and friends the opportunity to house their planes "in their garage" and simply fly from their front yard runway. It is a truly unique community."
