SCORES 94-PERCENT RATING WITH FISCAL WATCHDOG GROUP

WASHINGTON, SEPT. 21, 2012 – Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) named Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL) a “Taxpayer Hero” for his 2011 voting record.  Stearns scored a 94-percent rating with CAGW, a non-partisan, non-profit organization representing more than one million members and supporters.  One hundred and twenty votes cast in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2011 that opposed wasteful spending and higher taxes were evaluated by CAGW to determine these ratings.

“Throughout my tenure, I’ve shared CAGW’s mission of indentifying and eliminating wasteful federal spending and outdated programs,” said Stearns.  “I’m proud to be recognized as a Taxpayer Hero and of my record on fiscal responsibility.”
