Yarmuth: ‘We will not stop fighting for these kids'
Thursday October 18, 2007
“I am disappointed that some of my colleagues chose to support the President’s veto today, rather than stand up for the health of our nation’s children as eighty percent of the American people want us to do. But the fight is far from over, and I remain optimistic that we will pass a veto-proof bill this year that covers the six million children currently insured by SCHIP and the four million more who so desperately need this care. When a child in America gets sick, providing medical attention is our moral responsibility, and we will not stop fighting for these kids until that responsibility is met.”
