Yarmuth Urges Louisvillians Impacted By Flooding to Apply for Assistance Before Today's Deadline

(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) urged any Louisvillians impacted by the flooding and severe weather of August 4th to register for individual disaster assistance by the close of business today, in advance of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) deadlines.

“Over 12,000 Louisvillians have already registered for individual assistance with FEMA, but more may be eligible,” said Congressman Yarmuth. “I encourage anyone who suffered damages during the August 4th storms to immediately contact FEMA to determine their eligibility for assistance.”

Those who wish to register for assistance or those simply with questions can contact 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or register online at www.disasterassistance.gov. People with speech or hearing impairments can use the TTY line at 800-462-7585.

As of last week, over $20 million in disaster aid had been approved by FEMA and the Small Business Administration.
