(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) announced that two Louisville docks will receive federal funding to build facilities for sewage disposal so that recreational boaters have an alternative to dumping in the Ohio River and Harrods Creek.  

The funding is part of a $93,389 Clean Vessel Act (CVA) grant to the state of Kentucky from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  The money will be distributed by the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Service.

The facility on the Ohio River will be built at River Park Place Marina at a cost of $32,369.  The Harrods Creek project will be built at Creek Side Landing for $40,659.  The CVA grant will cover 75 percent of the cost of both facilities, with the remainder coming from the docks themselves.

“The Ohio River is among Louisville’s natural treasures, and I’m very pleased by the efforts to keep it clean,” Congressman Yarmuth said.
