Former President George W. Bush says he’s “fired up” about becoming a grandfather.
The ex-commander in chief’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, a “Today Show” correspondent, announced Wednesday on the show that she and her husband, Henry, are expecting a baby.
“It’s a springtime baby … so we’ve been able to keep it a secret,” Bush Hager, 31, revealed.
Bush’s mother, Barbara, said in a live phone interview she was “thrilled” by her daughter’s pregnancy. The former president added, “I could barely contain the news.”
When "Today" anchor Matt Lauer asked Bush what he’d like his future grandchild to call him, Bush responded to laughs, “Sir.”
