Yarmuth Launches Initiative to Bring Louisville Experiences to Congress

Voice of the People” encourages Louisvillians to submit stories, experiences for the House Floor and Congressional Record

(Washington, D.C.)  Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) launched an initiative to help the people of Louisville participate more directly in the Congressional process.  “Voice of the People” encourages constituents to send Congressman Yarmuth their personal experiences regarding the economy, the war in Iraq, healthcare, gas prices, or other issues that matter to them.  The Louisville lawmaker will read selected stories on the House Floor, where they will be aired live on C-Span and entered into the Congressional Record to become a permanent part of American history.

“Too often, the voice of the average American gets lost among the politics of the day” Yarmuth said.  “Voice of the People will bring the personal stories of our community directly to our leaders in Washington, ensuring that the House of Representatives remains the people’s house.”

Those wishing to participate in Voice of the People can submit a story, experience, or opinion on Yarmuth’s website at www.Yarmuth.House.gov.
