Statement on $8.4 Million Federal Education Grant to Kentucky
Thursday March 15, 2012LOUISVILLE – Today, Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) issued the following statement on the U.S. Department of Education’s award of more than $8.4 million to Kentucky through the School Improvement Grants program. The Commonwealth was one of 25 states and the District of Columbia to receive the grants.
“It is very encouraging that the federal government continues to support innovative education reforms in Kentucky,” Yarmuth said. “This grant will help Jefferson County schools and others throughout the state build upon the progress they have already made, so that more students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”
