American Association of University Women Gives Yarmuth Perfect Score for ‘07

Bipartisan advocacy group of more than 100,000 members praise Louisville lawmaker

(Washington, DC) Today, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) announced that Congressman John Yarmuth (KY-3) received a 100 percent rating on their 2007 annual Congressional Voting Record assessment.  The bipartisan group is made up of more than 100,000 women

“The AAUW has shown a strong dedication to issues that effect every facet of American life, and I am pleased to work alongside them as we tackle some of the nation’s greatest challenges,” Yarmuth said.  “While we made a good start last year in changing the direction of the country, we still have much to do to ensure that all Americans can afford a world-class education, earn a living wage, and are protected equally under the law.”

The AAUW scored the votes on several pieces of legislation that became law, including bills that provided for an increase in the minimum wage; the largest increase in student aid since the G.I. bill; and investment in science, technology, engineering, and math education.
