MICHAEL TAGGART OF TEWKSBURY COMPLETES CAPITOL HILL INTERNSHIP WITH REP. LANCE

WASHINGTON – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ 07) announced Michael Taggart of Tewksbury has completed an internship in the 7th District lawmaker's s Capitol Hill office. Taggart, 21, is headed into his senior year at Colgate University, where he is pursuing a major in Political Science.

“I want to thank Michael Taggart for his service to the people of New Jersey's 7th Congressional District," said Lance.  "He is an extremely able young man who worked very hard and always carried a positive attitude.  I was happy to watch Michael grow professionally and know he will excel in future endeavors."

Working this summer for Congressman Lance was an amazing experience. It was really great to see firsthand how Congress operates and watch and learn as the Congressman considered each issue,” said Taggart. “I am extremely grateful to Congressman Lance for giving me this opportunity. Watching House floor debates, attending committee hearings with witnesses such as Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and attending lectures by figures such as Justice Antonin Scalia, were among my most memorable moments.”  Taggart is the son of Bob and Mary of Oldwick. He was a 2009 graduate of the Morristown Beard School.

Interns in Lance’s congressional office perform a variety of duties, including preparing briefings and reports for staffers, facilitating and guiding tours of the U.S. Capitol for visiting residents, greeting office visitors, and helping staff with legislative research projects as well as constituent correspondence.  Lance’s office has hosted more than 75 constituent students in the internship program.
