LANCE TO HOLD GRANTS WORKSHOP ON FEB 9TH FOR 7TH DISTRICT FIRST RESPONDERS

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Leonard Lance (NJ-07) will host a special federal grants workshop on Monday, Feb. 9 for 7th Congressional District first responders at Raritan Valley Community College. Lance represents portions of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Union counties.

Specifically, Lance has invited officials with the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS) to participate in the workshop to discuss a federal grant program that is available to 7th Congressional District firefighters and safety squads to purchase much-needed safety equipment for their departments. During the event, Lance and DHS officials will discuss the federal fire grants program, deadlines for grant applications and answer questions.

“The federal fire grants program is important to New Jersey first responders who work day and night keeping our communities safe and secure,” Lance said. “It’s my hope that this workshop will help 7th District first responders get the answers they need to apply for these important federal funds.”

Lance’s first responders grant workshop will take place from 6-8 p.m., Mon., Feb. 9 at Raritan Valley Community College (Atrium Room) in North Branch.

The workshop is free, but registration is requested. To register or for additional information, call Lance’s congressional office at 908-518-7733.
