LANCE PARTICIPATES IN REACH OUT AND READ AT OVERLOOK HOSPITAL IN SUMMIT

Seventh District Lawmaker Promotes Early Literacy and School Readiness in Summit

SUMMIT, NJ – Today, Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) read to nearly a dozen children at Overlook Hospital in Summit as part of the Reach Out and Read program.

The Reach Out and Read program seeks to promote literacy by providing books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud during children’s well check up visits.

“I am proud to be a strong supporter of the Reach Out and Read program,” said Lance after his visit to Overlook Hospital. “I really enjoyed reading today to the young children in Summit and I am honored to have participated in such an important program that promotes literacy and helps teach young children the joys and benefits of reading.”
