Rep. McCarthy Meets with Agents for Change
Rep. McCarthy recently met with Agents for Change in her Long Island office. The group consisted of insurance agents working to modernize insurance regulations to assist consumers. As a member of the Financial Services Committee, Rep. McCarthy has direct oversight of insurance regulation. Rep. McCarthy Brings Sallie Mae College Tour to Long Island
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy recently hosted the Sallie Mae "On the Road: Paying For College" tour in the 4th Congressional District. The two day workshop, held at Westbury High School, gave students valuable insight into various college opportunities and the federal and local financial aid resources available to them. This is the fourth time Rep. McCarthy has brought the workshop to Long Island. Pictured with Rep. Rep. McCarthy Meets with Local Students in Washington
Rep. McCarthy recently met with several Long Island students in Washington. Rep. McCarthy Announces Federal Grant for the Long Island Children’s Museum
Rep. McCarthy recently announced a Federal grant for the Long Island Children's Museum (LICM). The Museum was awarded the grant due to their great work in assisting foster children through interactive education and local placements. Rep. McCarthy Participates in Crime Reduction Event
Rep. McCarthy recently participated in the International Association of Chiefs of Police event entitled Taking a Stand: Reducing Gun Violence in Our Communities. Their new report sets forth nearly 40 recommendations to combat gun violence in the United States. The report and recommendations were developed through the work of more than 200 mayors, district attorneys, law enforcement officers, and public health officials from around the country.
Rep. McCarthy Meets with Local Davison Fellow in Washington
Rep. McCarthy recently met with Danielle Lent, a Davison Fellow from Lawrence in Washington. Danielle was awarded as a Davison Fellow for her project titled "Optimizing Recycled Polymer Blends Using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide."
