Washington, D.C. — Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) today released the following statement in response to the bombing of an Israeli tour bus in Bulgaria. The bombing, which killed at least seven youth and wounded more than 20, came on the 18th anniversary of an Iran-sponsored attack on a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, Argentina:

“Our nation must condemn this cowardly act of violence against innocent children. Our country stands firm with our allies in Israel and Bulgaria and will not tolerate state-sponsored terrorism. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy. And if Iran was indeed behind today’s bombing, it is further evidence that Tehran is not interested in peace, but only in senseless violence and the pursuit of nuclear weapons.”
