CONGRESSWOMAN EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON VISITS WITH WINNING STUDENTS FROM NATIONAL SCIENCE CONTEST

CONGRESSWOMAN EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON VISITS WITH WINNING STUDENTS FROM NATIONAL SCIENCE CONTEST

Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson visits with K-12 students who won the national Explora Vision science competition.

Washington, DC (Friday, June 17, 2011)Congresswoman Johnson congratulated K-12 students who won the Explora Vision contest, a national science competition for grades K-12 in which students are asked to research a technology of their choice and explore what that technology could be in 20 years.

“We have an education crisis in this country, and there is a very real possibility that we will lose our competitive edge as a country if we cannot find ways to better engage, inspire and invest in our youth throughout the K-12 pipeline in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We must remain committed to investing in the sciences,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “These students, their parents and teachers all should be congratulated as this nation needs this kind of dedication to remain leaders in innovation.”
