CONGRESSWOMAN EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON DISCUSSES THE NEED TO INVEST IN STEM PROGRAMS WITH BLACK ENTERPRISE TELEVISION

 

Washington, DC – (Tuesday, March 29, 2011)– Today, Congresswoman Johnson sat down with “Our World with Black Enterprise” television to discuss the importance of investing in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines and what programs that encourage these studies mean the nation’s future.

“I understand that we have to make budget cuts, but I want to be sure that we don’t make the mistake of cutting our future,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “Investing in STEM programs will help us out-educate, out-innovate, and out-build the rest of the world. As Ranking Member of Science, Space and Technology, it is my top priority to identify and support strategies that will bolster American innovation, improve STEM education, promote diversity, and ensure that we are not only competing in the 21st century, but leading.”

 “Our World with Black Enterprise” is a news magazine show that features a mix of culture, entertainment, lifestyles and politics. It is hosted by Dr. Marc Lamont Hill and the Congresswoman will be featured in the sixth season of “Our World with Black Enterprise” television that will air this spring on the TVONE Network.
