CONGRESSWOMAN EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON ANNOUNCES MEDICAL RESEARCH GRANTS TO TEXAS DISTRICT 30

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson today announced that the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has awarded four different research grants to medical facilities in the 30th Congressional District of Dallas, totaling more than $1.1 million. 

Please see below for information about each grant’s awarding office, name of grantee, type of award and award amount:

Awarding Office:  National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders
Name of Grantee:  University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
Type of Award:  Biological Research Related to Deafness and Communicative Disorders
Amount of Award:  $157,000

Awarding Office:  National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
Name of Grantee:  University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
Type of Award:  Allergy, Immunology, and Transplantation Research
Amount of Award:  $392,500

Awarding Office:  National Cancer Institute
Name of Grantee:  University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas
Type of Award:  Cancer Biology Research
Amount of Award:  $319,260

Awarding Office:  Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
Name of Grantee:  Baylor Research Institute
Type of Award:  Research Demonstration and Dissemination Projects
Amount of Award:  $298,525
