WASHINGTON, DC) – Calling the Ft. Hood jihad attack “workplace violence” is  prime evidence that political correctness is undermining the national security of the United States, and demands an apology from the Department of Defense to all victims of that attack, according to Congressman John Carter, who represents Fort Hood in the U.S. House of Representatives. 

“It was our refusal to recognize the threat of radical Islam in our military ranks and elsewhere that allowed the Ft Hood attack to occur, in spite of multiple warning signs,” says Carter. “It is apparent from this statement and recent attempted attacks that we have not corrected the problem, which is the failure to tell the truth about the nature of these incidents.”

Carter is pushing multiple bills to address the Ft Hood shooting, including new whistleblower protections for service members and civilian employees who report radical activities; the assignment of combat casualty status to all victims of the shooting; and active shooter training for military installation law enforcement personnel worldwide.  All three measures have been included in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act, and Carter is lobbying for the measures to remain in the final House-Senate conference bill.
