07/01/05Lawsuit Abuse Public Affairs Team
Washington, Jul 1, 2005 -
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives John R. Carter (TX-31), Chairman of the Lawsuit Abuse Public Affairs Team, issued the following statements in response to the retirement announcement of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor:
“First of all, I would like thank Justice O’Connor for her historic service to our country and for blazing a trail for women in the law profession.
“I look forward to the President nominating and the Senate confirming a justice that will up hold the Constitution and principles of this nation. Our nation needs a justice that won’t look to international law but to our own Constitution, does not expand the realm of government and most importantly works daily to uphold the liberties granted to its people.”
Rep. John Carter (TX-31) represents the 31st District of Texas. Prior to being elected to Congress, Rep. Carter served over 20 years as judge of the 277th District Court of Williamson County. Since being elected to Congress in 2002, Carter has promoted a tough on crime agenda with legislation signed into law and is the Chairman of the Lawsuit Abuse Public Affairs Team
