Carter Responds to FEMA's Announcement

Evacuees to be housed at Marlin VA

Washington, Sep 28, 2005 -  

WASHINGTON, D.C. - This morning, U.S. Representative John R. Carter (TX-31) issued the following statement in response to evacuees being housed at the vacant Marlin VA Hospital:

"I am pleased that FEMA is utilizing the Marlin VA Hospital. I have expressed to Jack Colley and others that Marlin has an unutilized resource that could aid in the hurricane recovery efforts.

"There is no better place for these evacuees to be than in the care of Central Texans. I will continue to monitor the situation and work for what is best for the district."
