Francisco Canseco's statement on One Year Anniversary of Health Care Law:

Washington, D.C. - Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23) issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of Obamacare being signed into law:

“On March 9 of last year, then Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.” Well, we did find out what is in it - billions of dollars in spending that our country can't afford for a health system that Americans don't want.

Buried in the over 2,000 pages that comprised the bill were numerous new regulations, mandates, and government bureaucracies. In addition to creating 159 new boards, commissions, and other government bureaucracies, the health care has imposed onerous government regulations that will negatively affect job creation in America. This law has put small businesses in the difficult situation of either firing current employees or abandoning plans to hire additional employees because of the costs. It hurts our senior citizens, as some Medicare providers have indicated that they are no longer accepting Medicare patients, and many more not accepting any new Medicare patients. The health care law also hurts American families’ budgets. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that health insurance premiums will rise by $2,100 per American family.

“There is no doubt we need to reform health care in America. It is vital that we repeal the health care law and replace it with real reforms that ensure Americans can get the health care that they need, when they need it, and at a price they can afford.”Washington, D.C. - Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23) issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of Obamacare being signed into law:
