VIDEO: Congressman Canseco's on Harry Reid's Failure to Pass a Bill

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23), along with other freshmen Members of Congress, delivered a letter on Wednesday urging Senate Majority Leader Reid to pass a bill to fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year that cuts spending and reins in the national debt in order to prevent a government shutdown.
 
“While the House has done its job, the Senate has failed to pass a bill that makes reasonable, responsible spending cuts and funds the government,” said Congressman Canseco. “We would not be in this position if Democrats who controlled the House, Senate, and White House last Congress would have done their job and passed legislation last year to fund the government for this fiscal year. Instead, they chose to kick the can down the road into this Congress. I urge Senator Reid and the Democrat-controlled Senate to pass a bill so that we can begin a real discussion on how to put our nation back on a sustainable fiscal path. ” Canseco concluded.
