Heinrich Honored For Leadership on Behalf of America's Family Farmers, Ranchers, and Rural Communities

National Farmers Union Presents Heinrich with Golden Triangle Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Martin Heinrich (NM-1) was honored by the National Farmers Union (NFU) with the Golden Triangle Award for his leadership on issues relevant to America’s family farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.

“As someone who grew up on a family farm, I appreciate the work done by the National Farmers Union and its members to keep feeding America and the world,” said Rep. Heinrich.  “I will continue working with NFU to protect small family farms and their way of life.”

The Golden Triangle Award is NFU’s highest legislative honor and is based on NFU’s symbol – a triangle with “legislation” and “cooperation” forming the sides and “education” the base.

NFU President Roger Johnson said, “We are pleased to honor those who have proven to be true allies of our organization and our members across the country.”

Rep. Heinrich was nominated for the award by the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, which represents agriculture in New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado.
