Millionth Bulletproof Vest Purchased Through Leahy-Authored Program
Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.), and representatives from the law enforcement community held a press conference on November 27, to commemorate the purchase of the millionth bulletproof vest through the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program, a federal grant program sponsored by Leahy that provides matching grants to state and local authorities to purchase bulletproof vests for officers. Nearly 4000 of those vests have gone to police and sheriff’s officers across Vermont.
