Biggert, in collaboration with the Village of Romeoville, is hosting a job fair to connect job seekers with career opportunities, and equip them with the tools they need to conduct a successful job search through informative workshops addressing: resume writing; interview techniques; and the application process for employment with the federal government.

WHEN:
10 am to 2 pm, CST, Monday, August 29, 2011

WHERE:
RomeovilleRecreation Center
900 West Romeo Road
Romeoville, IL, 60446

WHY:
U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13) is hosting a job fair to connect job seekers with great career opportunities from within a wide spectrum of industries at some of our area’s top employers, large and small.  Attendees can take advantage of workshops that are designed to teach job seekers how to excel at the online job search, write an excellent resume, or stand out during an interview.  There also will be a presentation about how to find federal employment using http://USAJOBS.gov

“With unemployment remaining near double digits, it’s easy for job seekers to get discouraged, but there are some great opportunities available right here in the 13th District,” said Biggert.  “Participants are invited to network with dozens of companies, line up interviews, and make connections that can lead to a bright career.  This is my third job fair since 2009, and it’s a great way to open exciting new doors for local residents who are eager to market their talents.  In this economic environment, we all have to work together to make jobs the top priority -- in Washington and here at home.”

No pre-registration is required for job seekers.  Employers are encouraged to accept resumes, and schedule follow-up interviews.  For questions or to host a free booth, call Biggert’s Willowbrook office at (630) 655-2052.
