Biggert Seeks Interns for Willowbrook Office
12/17/09 Willowbrook, IL – U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th) is seeking high school and college-age interns from the 13th Congressional District to work in her Willowbrook Office. Interns are provided the opportunity to research casework and legislative issues, work with staff on special projects and field events, and assist with general office duties.
“My district office is the perfect setting for students who are interested in learning about the federal government or want first-hand knowledge about how Congress operates. This hands-on experience provides students with the skill sets necessary to find employment and excel in the job market,” said Biggert.
Unpaid intern candidates should be motivated, personable, and detail-oriented. They also must possess strong writing and communication skills.
“Interning for Congresswoman Biggert was extremely rewarding, as it deepened my knowledge about the federal government and politics,” said current Biggert district office intern Jolyn Lorenzetti of Darien. “Playing an active role in government at a time when our nation’s leaders are addressing such important issues like health care reform, cap and trade, and record-high unemployment rates was very enlightening.”
The district office staff allows students flexibility in setting their internship hours. Whether a student can work five or 15 hours per week, he or she is encouraged to apply. Interested applicants should email their resume to Matthew.Dambach@mail.house.gov.
Biggert’s district office is located at 6262 South Route 83, Suite 305, Willowbrook, IL. For more information, call (630) 655-2052.
