  1. Cynthia and I are saddened by the loss of Katherine Ingold—a dear friend and a great New Mexican. Katherine touched everyone she met, and will be missed in her community. Norman, and the rest of the Ingold family, are in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. A follow-up to my earlier video from today--here, I discuss what it means for you if the Senate and the White House don't act on any of the proposals the House has already put forward to avert the Fiscal Cliff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxjFe74ua6s&feature=youtu.be
  3. Cynthia and I are saddened by the loss of Jeannie Cone. Jeannie was a strong spiritual leader in New Mexico, an amazing woman, and a great example. Our prayers are with the Cone family today.
  4. All the talk about the "fiscal cliff" can be confusing. If you're hoping to understand the debate a little better, watch my brief explanation here: http://youtu.be/SzHm6UUfB4I
  5. On the air this morning--if you're in Alamogordo, you can catch the end of my visit with KRSY, and then in a few minutes, tun into KALH for more info from DC. Later, I'll be live with Cool FM, and then KSVP in the Artesia area.
  6. Furniture in the halls. Some people did not get reelected...people move into their offices during the lame duck. Getting ready for the new Congress Jan 3rd.

  7. The entire Lujan family, including my colleague Ben Ray Lujan, is in my thoughts and prayers today. Speaker Ben Lujan will live on through his decades of service to New Mexico.
  8. About to speak on the House Floor in support of Katie's law. Tune in on CSPAN to watch, or watch my remarks on YouTube later today.
  9. Today, the House will vote on "Katie's Law," named for an NMSU grad student who was brutally raped and murdered in 2003. I'm honored to be an original cosponsor of this bill, which will help prevent horrific attacks like this from recurring.

  10. Ran into Sue-J yesterday at home depot... Cynthia is remodeling our kitchen. Sue J is well informed on the issues. She is the reason I serve and fight for the people of New Mexico.

  11. As we celebrate the holidays, we remember those we've lost in defense of freedom. This moving tribute was from Ft. Bayard over the weekend:

  13. My prayers are with the victims, families, and all those affected by the shooting in Connecticut this morning.
  14. On the air with Will Rooney in Ruidoso--tune in to hear the latest on the fiscal cliff!
  15. The President wants to raise taxes by $4 for every $1 in spending cuts. 81% on my telephone town hall said this isn't the solution. Last month the federal gov took in $10 billion MORE than we did last November, but increased spending by over $40 billion! More taxes won't solve a spending problem!
  16. Watch my welcome home message to National Guard troops this weekend:
  17. One of the most beneficial ways I can use my time is with constituents, talking about important issues at community events. Over the weekend, I had a chance to visit with New Mexicans in Las Cruces. Here's a photo of me with Meredith and her son Brenner at the Las Cruces tree lighting ceremony.

  18. I'm saddened by the passing of Dorothy Thomas, a true public servant who worked tirelessly for New Mexicans, serving in Congressman Joe Skeen's office for over two decades. Dorothy was a wonderful example to her fellow Las Crucens, and will be missed by the community she served in so many ways. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.
  19. This weekend, I had the honor of welcoming home members of the same National Guard unit I visited overseas last month. To all those serving in the name of freedom, and their families: Thank you.
  20. Wishing a very happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating tonight in
New Mexico and around the world
  21. This says everything. Dad just returned from 9 month tour of duty
in the Sinai. They serve that our families might be safe and at peace.

  22. Congratulations to the Las Cruces Bulldawgs on taking state! And, congratulations to Goddard High on taking the 4A State Title!
  23. Fiscal Cliff debate continues in Washington. Make your voice heard! What wasteful spending would YOU control, alter, or delete to get our country back on track?

Take this survey and tell Washington what you would cut.

  25. 71 years later, today continues to live in infamy. Please join me in remembering all those lost at Pearl Harbor, and all those who have served in the cause of freedom.
  26. I agree with our caller from Cloudcroft. He made a good comment about the national debt. I am in Washington to fight for the people of New Mexico - we need to cut the spending, not the people.
  27. I just received a great comment from Karen in Carlsbad concerning the national budget. I agree with Karen - we need to cut spending, but we cannot cut the support to our soldiers still in harm's way.

  33. Today, WSMR is hosting a farewell ceremony for the troops in the 595 Sapper Co., 2nd Engineer Battalion, deploying to Afghanistan. As always, these brave men and women will remain in my prayers, as will their families. I ask all my fellow New Mexicans to join me in supporting those families unable to spend the holidays with their loved ones serving abroad.
