Congressional Art Competition

Attention High School Students: Do you have artistic talent?  Consider entering this year’s Congressional Art Competition, sponsored by the House of Representatives.

Each district’s winner receives national recognition.  If you win, your art work will be prominently displayed for one year in the passageway to the U.S. Capitol.

Additionally, Southwest Airlines provides you and one parent or guardian with airfare to Washington, DC for the winners’ ceremony.  Starting this year, the Savannah College of Art and Design is offering the potential to qualify for an artistic scholarship as well.

The 5th Congressional District Art Contest will be hosted this year by the Nassau County Museum of Art from Saturday April 7th through the Awards Reception on Sunday, April 22nd. The Museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Interested high-school artists whose schools are located in the 5th Congressional district must apply directly through, and be chosen by their participating high school art departments.
