Ribble Legislation Helps American Businesses

Sep 15, 2011 Issues: Budget

Washington D.C. – Representative Reid Ribble today spoke at a press conference about the House companion bill, H.R. 2898, he introduced to Senator Johnson’s Regulation Moratorium and Job Preservation Act.

Excerpt from Rep. Ribble’s comments at today’s press conference:

“I can tell you that regulations crushed my roofing company. I have had businesses throughout Northeast Wisconsin say to me that, ‘the federal government has declared war on my business.’ This is not how you create jobs in this country. It’s time to give business owners and job creators some breathing space and this bill has a measurement that I think is going to be effective.”

National Federation of Independent Businesses said:

“Congressman Ribble is a businessman and NFIB member, so he has a clear understanding of how difficult it is for small businesses to absorb the cost of regulations.  Our members are very grateful for his leadership.”

Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council said:

"The 'Regulation Moratorium and Jobs Preservation Act of 2011' provides a check on costly regulation that is harming job creation, investment and economic growth.  Small businesses need regulatory certainty, stability and accountability. This important piece of legislation brings such balance to the regulatory system."
