Ribble Joins Congressional Delegation Trip to Israel

Jan 9, 2012 Issues: Congressional Reform, Immigration

Washington, D.C. – Representative Reid Ribble (WI-8) traveled to Israel with other members of Congress to gain a firsthand understanding of some of America’s most pressing foreign policy challenges. Congressman Ribble will learn more about the U.S.-Israel relationship, the peace process, Israel’s security situation, and important political and economic trends in the region. He will meet with senior Israeli and Palestinian leaders and explore opportunities for bilateral economic and technological cooperation with the Israeli business community.

“I am interested in learning more about the latest tools and technology that Israel is using in its fight against terror,” said Ribble. “I also plan on discussing the efforts for a lasting peace in the region with a wide variety of leaders across the spectrum –Israelis, Palestinians, religious figures, opposition members, and ordinary citizens. This trip should be an insightful experience that will help strengthen my understanding of a region that plays a pivotal role in our nation’s foreign policy.”

The trip is being arranged by the American Israel Educational Foundation (AIEF), a charity affiliated with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.  AIEF Israel seminars are considered among the most substantive, rigorous, and valuable opportunities for members of Congress to learn about the U.S.-Israel relationship. The trip is paid for by AIEF, which is privately funded by American citizens; no federal tax dollars are used.
