Ribble Leads Group to Reform Congress

Jan 20, 2012 Issues: Congressional Reform

Washington, D.C. – Representative Reid Ribble (WI-08) announced that he will lead the Fix Congress Now Caucus alongside Congressman Scott Rigell (VA-2). The caucus will assess four main areas of congressional reform including term limits, ending congressional pensions, budget reform and committee reform.

“It’s no secret that Congress is broken,” said Ribble. “Systematic dysfunction has limited Congress’ ability to effectively deal with critical issues such as staggering debt and high unemployment. Instead of just pointing fingers, Congressman Rigell and I want to take action and find resolutions to reform this failing system.

“We started the Fix Congress Now Caucus because we understand that the problems facing government are not solely the fault of just one party or one chamber, but in large part due to institutional flaws. In order to reform Congress we must come together and find common ground, not as Republicans and Democrats, but as Americans so that we can ensure a better and brighter future for our children and grandchildren.”
