      Time to end the Bush welfare for extremely wealthy folks!Boo-hoo!They ought to be ashamed of themselves.Poor folks pay a far higher percentage of their income in taves than these wealthy guys do.Practically everything we do is taxed.It goes way beyond national and state taxes.It is also time to cut the fat in the budget.It is really time to put the American people first.I know you will:)

  5. Today, I signed a Congressional "discharge petition" to stop Congressional gridlock and pass middle class tax cuts immediately.
  6. Low lake levels hurt our way of life, economy and local jobs. I am fighting to unlock billions of dollars in unspent funds so that we can dredge harbors and ports in Lake Ontario and keep our economy moving.
  7. Just wrapped up a press conference in Rochester, where I talked to reporters about the "fiscal cliff", the Violence Against Women Act and a new Farm Bill, among other topics. I strongly support the President's call to extend middle class tax cuts while ending additional and unnecessary tax breaks for the richest 2%.

  16. Today I return to Washington to create jobs, grow our economy, level the playing field for local businesses, reduce our deficit and bring back fairness to our tax code. We can do all of this while protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid- now and for future generations. Lets get to work!
  17. This Veterans Day, we not only thank our veterans for their incredible service, but rededicate ourselves to providing world-class care and support when they come home. I also call once again for an immediate end to the war in Afghanistan, and I will not rest until our sons and daughters are back home.
