Washington, DC - Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) announced today that the City of Savannah and Savannah Airport Commission will receive a $4.5 million Department of Transportation grant for runway safety improvements.  This grant is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

"The Savannah area is already a major destination in this country, and it's growing bigger everyday," said Barrow.  "It's important that our airport facilities are the safest and most up-to-date that they can be.  This money will put a lot of folks to work, and it'll let us continue to grow, which is great for the community in the long run."
