Charlie Sheen Donates $75k to 10-Year-Old Cancer Patient

Sheen and Braun hang out in 1990. (Ron Galella/WireImage)Sounds like Charlie Sheen's not such a bad boy after all! The actor has just donated $75,000 to a 10-year-old cancer patient, according to TMZ. The website reports that the good deed came out of a conversation he was having with a police officer in Hermosa Beach, California. The officer told Sheen about another officer's little girl named Jasmine who's been diagnosed with Childhood Rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer of the muscle tissue, which will require chemotherapy and radiation. When Sheen heard the story, he reportedly said, "No parent should have to watch their kid go through that," and wrote a generous check to the Hermosa Beach Police Association, which was raising money for Jasmine the following day.

Sheen certainly can afford that kind of donation. Forbes magazine named him the highest-paid TV actor in 2011, after he brought in an estimated $40 million between May 2010 and May 2011. Much of that income was from "Two and a Half Men," the show that fired him last year after he went on a tirade about the show's creator Chuck Lorre. (Someone who makes a lot less money, Sheen's "Scary Movie 5" stunt double, Eddie Braun, donated an additional $25,000 to help with Jasmine's medical bills.)

The "Major League" star has been feeling especially generous lately. Just this week, he confirmed that he gave $100,000 to his "Scary Movie 5" co-star Lindsay Lohan to help her pay off her tax debt to the IRS. Sheen noted to "Entertainment Tonight" that he had never been thanked for his gift. "I'm still waiting for a text to say 'thank you,'" Sheen said with a laugh. "Anything, you know." Still, Sheen wasn't bitter about the situation. He added that Lohan's "a very good and decent young lady that is just going through a lot."

But more than a young girl with cancer? As nice as Sheen's recent donation was, it's hard not to notice it was less than he gave to Lohan. Do you think the Lohan money would have been better spent elsewhere?

Charlie has always done stuff like that. He doesn't talk much about it, but not the first time it has been reported openly. Charlie has his problems but lack of compassion for others is not one of his short comings.

This just goes to show that many, many people with substance abuse problems are decent people. They've just got a sickness, that's all.

He seems like he's turning a new leaf, so refreshing to read good articles about him instead of horrid ones.

He always had this personality. Media just crashed in and everyone looked at him as something else.

He isn't the monster people make him out to be. I do agree that the money he wasted on Lohan could have been put to better use, but hey, it's not my moolah!

Charlie can relate to addiction...but Charlie has a great family (not full of blood suckers) and Charlie has always worked.

That was very descent of him to do for that little girl! He may have his personal issues, but he showed he is a man with a huge heart. Let's leave it alone and the negative comments about him. Otherwise, you all would be lowering yourselves, pretty much!

You're a good guy, Charlie! And I'll bet you get a thank you from that little girl, unlike the ingrate you wasted $100,000 on, You should have given the entire amount to the little girl. But it's your money.

Questioning who Charlie gives his money to is idiotic. He earned it, he should get to decide how it's spent. Would we perhaps prefer he gave it to someone who seemed more worthy? Probably! Are we the ones signing the checks? Nope!

Charlie has a good heart....always has. HOWEVER, the rest of him needs to finally grow up. You're looking bad bud - no matter what those "yes men/women" you surround yourself with say! Get help before it kills you. PLEASE. Your heart is needed to do good deeds such as this - don't waste it.

I think what Charlie does with his money is his own business, none of mine.
