Funding For Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority Applauded By Hochul

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. Representative Kathy Hochul (NY-26) announced today that the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority (RGRTA) will receive over $3.5 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s State of Good Repair Program for improvements to the RGRTA’s administrative building and operations building.

“I am pleased that the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority will receive this funding to improve its administrative and operations buildings. These changes will help improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, develop the livability of the surrounding neighborhood, and support the City of Rochester’s environmental sustainability efforts as well as create approximately 234 construction-related jobs. These improvements, along with other upgrades to the local transportation infrastructure, will benefit all residents who utilize RGRTA transportation,” Rep. Hochul said.

In March, Rep. Hochul sent a letter to Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood in support of the RGRTA’s proposal.

The RGRTA will receive of total of $3,562,953.00 from the Department of Transportation to fund this project.
